Anesthesiology

The Anesthesia department provides comprehensive 24 hr services through a group of senior Anesthesiologists in all surgical specialties (except Cardiac Surgeries). The range of services offered in the department includes:

• Anesthesia for routine surgeries
• Anesthesia for emergency surgeries
• Sedation for endoscopies
• Post operative analgesia and pain relief

Cancer Screening

Early detection and intervention is essential, particularly for cancer when the consequences of disease may be serious. Accurate early diagnosis of cancer (or pre-cancer) gives the opportunity to start treatment before disease progresses, thus potentially reducing the need for aggressive therapy, reducing the likelihood of metastatic disease, and averting cancer deaths. The Cancer screening package at Columbia Asia is aimed at individuals above 40 years.

The annual program consists of:

• X ray chest, USG abdomen & pelvis and Mammography
• Pap smear
• Consultation with Oncologist

The Diabetes Clinic at Columbia Asia aims at providing you with comprehensive, coordinated care for diabetes, thyroid disease, and metabolism issues. The Clinic specializes in the multiple disciplinary care of diabetic patients and gives special attention to the complications of diabetes. Basic services include assessing the patient's knowledge of diabetes and determining the patient's educational needs.

General Surgery

The department of Surgery at Columbia Asia provides comprehensive round the clock surgical services. The department provides services for all general surgical procedures. The department also provides advanced gastrointestinal surgeries, rectal and complex anal surgeries and laparoscopic procedures including advanced laparoscopic surgeries. The general surgeons work closely with other specialists involved in each patient's care to diagnose and provide timely surgical intervention for complex conditions.

• Treatment for voice disorders
• Laryngoscopes for pain free noninvasive outpatient examination.
• Screening and surgeries for head and neck.

Hypertension Clinic

The Hypertension clinic protocols have been designed based on AHA guidelines and aims at providing comprehensive management and support for patients who have been diagnosed as hypertensive. The clinic includes patient evaluation through a range of lab, radiology and Cardiology investigations. The aim is prevention / early detection / optimum management of complications of hypertension.

The annual program consists of:

• Laboratory investigations
• X ray chest
• Stress test (individuals who find it difficult to walk on the tread mill will be offered ECG + Echo cardiography in lieu of stress test)
• Consultation with the dietician
• Consultation with the diabetologist
• The annual program consists of an initial check followed by an option of three quarterly checks

Internal Medicine

The department of Internal Medicine has full OPD coverage for addressing complaints related to all systems and treatment of inpatients with problems related to respiratory, cardiac, neurological, endocrine, diabetic complications, perioperative assessment and management of underlying conditions.

Orthopedics

The Orthopedic department at Columbia Asia takes care of all kinds of Orthopedic & trauma situations. The 24hour Accident and Emergency (A & E) department receives and takes care of other Orthopedic emergencies.Consultants many years of experience in various fields of Orthopedic surgery.

Orthopedic services include:

• Medical and surgical treatment of various Orthopedic disorders
• Treatment of ligament injuries and sports injuries

Patient Accommodations: Rooms

Columbia Asia offers a variety of room types for inpatients. Each room is connected to the nurse station with the nurse call system. The room architecture allows all rooms to be naturally sunlit and the size allows placement of attendant beds in the rooms. The toilets have been designed in accordance with specifications for handicapped toilets and this allows easy maneuverability of wheelchairs.

The following room types are available:

• Five bedded room
• Single bedded room

Pediatrics

There are some children who are sick and require treatment and monitoring that cannot be carried out at home. These children are admitted to Inpatient ward and monitored closely by medical and nursing staff. We do not have a Paediatric intensive Care unit and children requiring these services are transferred to Pediatric I & II Hospital.
ODP Services:Our outpatient services are available 24 hours . It is recommended that you take a prior appointment to see a Pediatrician at the outpatient clinics.
Accident and Emergency Services: Our A&E services are available round the clock are available at any time of the day to deal with any kind of emergencies like fits, sudden severe asthma attacks, high fevers etc.

Pharmacy Services

The pharmacy at Columbia Asia features an integrated system directed towards both inpatients and the medication needs of outpatients. The 24-hr pharmacy stores a wide range of medication to cater to the requirement of all medical and surgical specialties.

Radiology

The Radiology department is committed to providing safe, reliable and speedy radio diagnostic support round-the-clock. The department has facilities for all 'conventional' radiography, including bedside radiographs for the critically ill patient who cannot be moved.

Other modalities include the following:

• C arm (with image intensifier): permits 'real time' investigations such as Barium meal and enema examinations in GIT disorders, hysterosalpingography in infertility, and IVP in genito-urinary complaints, with the least discomfort to patients.
• is another real time imaging modality. Cross sectional images of the scanned portion are visualized through various planes to identify, localize and diagnose the complaint. Doppler examinations to image the blood vessels and profile the haemodynamics within can be carried out on our USG machine. This is invaluable in the management of varicose veins, diagnosis of deep vein thrombosis, arterial blocks.
