Anesthesia

The Anesthesia department provides comprehensive 24 hr services through a group of senior Anesthesiologists in all surgical specialties (except Cardiac Surgeries). The range of service offered in the department includes:

Bariatric Surgery

The department of bariatric surgery at Columbia Asia performs all types of weight loss surgeries tailored to meet individual patient needs and gives life long support after surgery. The team, which includes a bariatric surgeon, bariatric nutritionist, psychologist and trained anesthetist, provides comprehensive care.

Day Surgery

The following categories of day care surgery are performed:

• Eye surgeries including removal of cataracts and foreign bodies
• Gynecological procedures including dilation and curettage (D&C), laparoscopies and biopsies

Dermatology

The Dermatology department caters to skin, hair, nail and mucosal problems. Apart from diagnosing skin diseases and any associated internal problems for which appropriate treatment is suggested, we also emphasize on patient education regarding basic skin care to prevent unnecessary damage due to the environment.

Services include:

• Skin surgery to remove growths or biopsies to aid in diagnosis
• Cosmetic procedures to maintain and improve the appearance of skin damaged by the sun, disease or natural aging process
• Removal of Skin growths and blemishes by simple safe procedures
• Cosmetic procedures for aging skin concerns include botox and skin fillers, face lifts for wrinkles and sag of the skin, and hair reduction for unwanted body and facial hair

ENT

The facilities available include sophisticated real time video monitor assisted diagnostic equipment with built-in thermoregulatory and antibacterial systems which is a highly sophisticated and advanced ENT workstation.

ENT services include:

Gastroenterology

The department has full-fledged gastroenterology and hepatology services with OPD, inpatient and emergency services, equipped to deal with any gastrointestinal problem.

• Diagnostic gastroscopy, colonoscopy, endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography (ERCP)
• Therapeutic endoscopy for foreign bodies, bleeding ulcers and varices, bile duct stone removal, polypectomy and hemorrhoidal banding, esophageal stricture and achalasia, dilatation, bile duct and pancreatic duct stenting

General & Laparoscopic Surgery

The department provides comprehensive, round the clock services for all general surgical procedures. Advanced gastrointestinal surgeries, rectal and complex anal surgeries and laparoscopic procedures including advanced laparoscopic surgeries are also provided.

The general surgeons work closely with other specialists involved in each patient's care to diagnose and provide timely surgical intervention for complex conditions.

Internal Medicine also offers specialty services in infectious diseases by qualified ID specialists and support to other services such as surgery, OBG, gastroenterology and neurology for medical problems.

Kidney Transplant

The nephrology and renal (kidney) transplant department at Columbia Asia performs various types of dialyses, renal transplants and renal biopsies. The members of the team bring with them an excellence born out of over 20 years' hands-on experience in India and abroad.

The team has performed over 1600 transplants including multiple artery transplants, double ureter transplants and pediatric kidney transplants. The success rate of the kidney transplant program is comparable with the best in the world.

Laboratory

Located on the ground floor, the Laboratory is a full service facility performing diagnostic testing in laboratory medicine and anatomic pathology. Committed to providing top-quality patient care, our lab is staffed round the clock, and a pathologist is on call 24 hours a day.

The services comprise of Biochemistry, Clinical Pathology, Immunology, Hematology, Serology, Histopathology and Cytopathology.

Emphasis has been given to ensure accuracy, precision, reproducibility and prompt reporting. In consonance with the hospital's policy, the lab has implemented Internal Quality Control and External Quality Assurance measures as per the guidelines of international best practices.

Nephrology

Constituted by medical specialists with extensive experience in treating various renal disorders and dialysis, the nephrology team attends to patients with Acute renal failure, Chronic renal failure; End stage renal disease, Hematuria (blood loss in the urine), Proteinuria (the loss of protein especially albumin in the urine), Electrolyte disorders (acid/ base imbalance) among other conditions.

Obstetrics & Gynecology

Experienced & qualified doctors provide comprehensive care for ladies from puberty to menopause. Around the clock availability of postgraduate resident doctors and modern, well equipped labor rooms ensure correct and comprehensive care to mothers during delivery.

Pediatric Surgery

• Childbirth and New-Born care - All children born at Columbia Asia Hospital are seen by the Pediatrician after delivery. We have well equipped delivery rooms to take care of the new-born.
• Neonatal ICU - For sick neonates we have a well equipped Neonatal ICU with well trained staff which manages neonatal problems including neonatal jaundice, respiratory distress, and other more complex problems of the newborn.
• Emergencies in older children like bronchial asthma, diarrhoea and vomiting with dehydration, allergic reactions and fits

Pharmacy

The pharmacy features an integrated system directed towards both inpatients and the medication needs of outpatients. A unique feature is the Electronic Medical Records system that enables us to capture data on medication dispensed to the patient on every visit to the hospital.

Radiology

The Radiology department is committed to providing safe, reliable and speedy radio diagnostic support round-the-clock.
The department has facilities for all 'conventional' radiography, including bedside radiographs for the critically ill patient who cannot be moved.

Other modalities include the following:

• C arm (with image intensifier) permits 'real time' investigations such as barium meal and enema examinations in gastro-intestinal disorders, hysterosalpingography in infertility, and IVP in genito-urinary complaints, with the least discomfort to patients
• Ultrasonography is another real time imaging modality. Cross sectional images of the scanned portion are visualized through various planes to identify, localize and diagnose the complaint
  
  Doppler examinations to image blood vessels and profile the hemodynamics within can be carried out on our ultrasound machine. This is invaluable in the management of varicose veins, diagnosis of deep vein thrombosis, and arterial blocks.
• CT scan adds to the cross sectional imaging modalities available for accurate localization and diagnosis. CT scanners have the advantage of permitting access to an acutely ill patient for resuscitation while scanning is in progress
• Mammography augments our endeavor to provide comprehensive medical care to women with an emphasis on breast screening examinations, in addition to diagnosing the cause of a palpable breast lump

Surgical Oncology

Services at the hospital include:

• Various biopsy techniques including Tru-cut biopsies
