The first National 5-A-Side Blind Football Circuit (1) 2016 was held on 27-28 Feb. There was also a specially arranged match involving the national team players of 2009 and the current Asean Para Games squad, in what turned out to be a thrilling match-up of experienced and tactical play.

Columbia Asia has been supporting the development of blind football in Malaysia as part of the CSR project since 2013. Columbia Asia also sponsored the national team’s training in order to prepare them for the Asean Para Games 2015. The victory by the Malaysia 5-a-side blind football team in the 8th Asean Para Games 2015 has proved that consistent training was not in vain.

Columbia Asia Hospital recently held an event for diabetic children to tell their stories to the world. Named Celebration of Stories Untold on ‘My Life as a Diabetic Child,’ the event was Columbia Asia’s latest initiative beyond the scope of patient-care to celebrating the lives of diabetic children. The event was also a closure to their series of events in conjunction with World Diabetes Awareness Month and in collaboration with Diabetes Malaysia.

Reaching Out Begins with Reaching Within - Columbia Asia’s chefs create diabetic-friendly local recipes in conjunction with World Diabetes Day. Committed to educating the community on the best way to eat healthy, nine chefs from across Columbia Asia’s facilities nationwide faced-off in the Columbia Asia Master Chef Challenge 2015. They worked closely with in-house dietitian to reinterpret Malaysian favourites and recipes so that the output is a diabetic-safe meal plan without compromising taste.
