August 28, 2017

Hospital accreditation is a process that assesses a hospital’s performance against a set of standards. In Malaysia, most hospitals go through an accreditation process by Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH). MSQH is recognised nationally and internationally as the leading Malaysian organisation that promotes and improves safety and quality in the provision of healthcare services in Malaysia.

Columbia Asia Hospital – Iskandar Puteri (CAHIP) in Johor received a full 4 years MSQH accreditation award from 12th January 2017 to 11th January 2021. The accreditation award ceremony was held in conjunction with their 7th annual dinner, recently. CAHIP is a licensed 81-bed multispecialty hospital located in Iskandar Puteri. The Hospital provides quality healthcare services with emphasis on modern medical protocols, advanced medical technologies, managed by experienced and well trained personnel. They provide secondary specialist healthcare services with a range of diagnostic, radiology and clinical laboratory services.

The Hospital started its journey for MSQH accreditation programme since December 2014. The first step is always tougher and continuous awareness and training was conducted to ensure that the staff was able to cope with the changes. They were fortunate to have a very motivated and determined General Manager, Rahani Yaacob as she played a significant role in enlightening and convincing all Consultants as well as Mangers to be committed to the programme. With her guidance, a steering committee was formed to oversee the progress of all services and 28 service standards were surveyed by 6 surveyors from 9th to 11th January 2017.

Through this continued commitment, the hospital needs to maintain standards and ensure their services are safe, valuing customers first and delivering to the patients accordingly with care.
