Type I diabetes caused by genetic and unknown factors that trigger the onset of the disease. Risk factors for Type II diabetes includes family history (immediate family member or relatives diagnosed with diabetes), aging ( more than 35 years old), high blood sugar (during an illness or pregnancy), overweight (with BMI more than 25kg\/m-2 ) and physically inactive.<br \/><br \/>The American Diabetes Association recommends public to limit sugar sweetened beverages to help prevent diabetes. Total carbohydrates percentage of 45%-60% of total energy is recommended. Every diabetes patient shall be advised on carbohydrate recommendation individually. Consuming carbohydrates within recommended serving size will not raise glucose level. At least 130g carbohydrates per day should be provided to ensure adequate intake of nutrients and to prevent ketosis.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6aac0be elementor-widget elementor-widget-spacer\" data-id=\"6aac0be\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"spacer.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer-inner\"><\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3602136 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"3602136\" data-element_type=\"widget\" id=\"subtopic03\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Myth 3: Diabetes diet need to give up dessert and all the foods with simple sugar.<\/h3>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-90255f9 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"90255f9\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><em><strong>FACT:<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0It is not necessary to give up all favourite dessert and simple sugar intake if the sugar count as part of total carbohydrates allowance. The key is to have small portion and on special occasion only.
