area<\/strong>.<\/li><li>For\u00a0<strong>bone marrow aspiration<\/strong>, a thin needle will be used to obtain a sample of fluid.<\/li><li>For\u00a0<strong>trephine biopsy<\/strong>, a small piece of bone tissue will be obtained using another type of needle (see image above).<\/li><\/ul><p>\u201cThis is a\u00a0<strong>safe<\/strong>\u00a0procedure that can be done\u00a0<strong>under local\u00a0<\/strong><strong>anaesthesia<\/strong>,\u201d Dr Habibah further explains.<\/p><p>The samples are sent to a laboratory for analysis.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div the patient\u2019s overall organ function, and more.<\/p><p>This is also complicated by how different patients tend to respond differently to the same treatment.<\/p><p>Hence, Dr Habibah shares that treatment tends to be\u00a0<strong>tailored to each patient<\/strong>, so there is no \u2018one treatment fits all\u2019 approach when it comes to and their family would be addressed as well during such discussion.<\/p><p>Such\u00a0<strong>two-way open communication is necessary<\/strong>\u00a0because the treatment journey is dynamic.<\/p><p>There may be adjustments and changes in the days ahead, so Dr Habibah points out that everyone involved will need to be vigilant, openminded, and flexible.<\/p><p>\u201cIt is important for the patient, their family, and their healthcare team to establish a good rapport and keep communication channels open,\u201d she iterates.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div
