Columbia Asia Hospital – Klang awarded Asia Pacific’s Best New Hospital of the Year

Selangor, April 26, 2019 — Columbia Asia Hospital – Klang was recently awarded Asia Pacific’s Best New Hospital at the 2019 Asia Pacific Healthcare & Medical Tourism Awards. The prestigious event, held at the JW Marriot in Kuala Lumpur, was organized by Global Health and Travel, the sole regional healthcare/medical tourism magazine in the South East Asian healthcare industry.

The award serves as an incentive as well as a measuring tool to benchmark the hospital against its peers and industry standards. Receiving the award on behalf of the hospital was its General Manager, Miss Wong Wai Mun who commented, “We are extremely proud of this achievement and will continue to strive to give our best to our patients.” Only entering its third year of operations, Columbia Asia Hospital – Klang was chosen due to its consistently high standards in delivering quality healthcare and excellent medical services.

Selected through consumer surveys, industry experts, market research reports and data from the Global Health and Travel publication, nominees were evaluated through in-depth interviews to ascertain their current market position, future growth plans, achievements and company performance before they are ranked accordingly. Following that, nominees were further shortlisted based on votes by the public as well as the awards committee. Among the awards’ multi-national panel of judges were Association of Private Hospitals of Malaysia president, Dato Dr Jacob Thomas; Frost & Sullivan, Growth Partnership Services (APAC) Partner, Rhenu Bhuller; Asian Healthcare Solutions LLP CEO, Dr. Vincent Chia and AB Bernstein Senior Research Analyst, Laura Nelson Carney who specifically covers Asia-Pacific healthcare.

Also present at the event was Malaysia’s Minister of Health, Datuk Seri Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad.
