Columbia Asia bags Gold Award at Prestigious Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands Award 2022

KUALA LUMPUR; June 15, 2022 – Columbia Asia Group of Hospitals won the Gold Award in the Private Hospital category at the Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands Award 2022 held at the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

“To be acknowledged as a Trusted Brand is indeed an honor as it speaks volumes about how our brand is perceived. We would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to all the consumers who voted for Columbia Asia,” says Columbia Asia Corporate Client Service and Customer Service Vice President, Miss Shumita Chaudhury who represented the private healthcare group in receiving the award.  

Trust in the healthcare provider

This Readers Digest Trusted Brand award is not the first win for Columbia Asia in 2022. Earlier in the year, Columbia Asia was awarded as one of 10 Most Trusted Healthcare Consultant Service Providers 2022 by health magazine and portal, Healthcare Insights.

In an industry like healthcare, the trust of the consumer is a vital attribute to have; ahead of skills, facilities and services. People want to be assured that they are making the right choice when deciding on the healthcare matters of their loved ones. Once there is trust, all else will fall into place neatly.

On top of that, Columbia Asia recently launched its first dialysis center, located in Klang. A second dialysis center is set to open this year at the Tebrau branch in Johor. Next quarter will be the opening of the first Columbia Asia oncology center, located at the Bukit Rimau branch in Shah Alam.

Voting mechanics

So how were winners selected for the Readers’ Digest Trusted Award? Votes are retrieved from 8000 consumers across Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The rating of each brand is based on Reader’s Digest six key attributes; trustworthiness and credibility, quality, value, understanding of customer needs, innovation and social responsibility. More than 100 brands were shortlisted from more than 50 categories from various industries.
